In reciting, therefore, the divine Office every one should apply to himself the sentiments and the acts of the royal prophet—sentiments of holy fear, of confidence in God, of thanksgiving; acts of good desires, of humility, of offering of one’s self; of love, of praise; and especially all the prayers that he addresses to the Lord to obtain the pardon of his sins, as well as to obtain light and the help necessary for salvation.
